THE DANCE OFF - A2 SIZE CHARACTER CONCEPT BOARD

This is the character concept illustration board that represents my overall main character design process. There's emoticon doodles, the turn around poses & Zaigya the Dancing Goddess doing her cringy magic spells (as usual). I gain inspiration of this illustration from sci-fi, fantasy, space documentaries for the universe setup. The lighting was a challenge in this piece of work because of the close contrast of colours used here so it took me roughly 3 weeks (thanks to COVID-19 I have more time) to figure out a solution. I spammed plenty of blending layers to top up the brightness of her lightbeam magic that strikes the planet and darken the tones of the background also to give some form of perspective. I love the brightness!!! Don't you all? ;)
